Anmore is thrilled to receive $2.5 million for the Community Hub through Investing in Canada Infrastructure Grants. The federal and provincial governments have announced the grant funding. Click HERE for details on the grant.

The 2022 application form for the $1,000 Hal Weinberg Scholarship is open to all Anmore students graduating from high school this year, and it is posted at https://anmore.com/community/scholarships-awards/hal-weinberg-scholarship-2/.

Please review the information sheet, which explains how to apply and outlines the criteria for the scholarship, and then complete the fillable PDF application form. The application form can be downloaded, filled in and emailed back to the Village. If you have questions about the scholarship or application process, please email Karen.Elrick@anmore.com.

Spring is the air and the Easter Bunny is ready to hide eggs for the kids in our community. This year’s Easter Egg Hunt also includes the annual colouring contest.

The hunt for eggs starts at 10 a.m. sharp. It’s free and no registration is required. Parking is available at Anmore Elementary School. See you there!

Anmore Newsletter: Hemlock Drive Paving 2022

Great news! We are going to be completely rehabilitating and repaving Hemlock Drive from Sunnyside to Fern Drive as part of 2022 capital works projects. This project will be going out for tender within a couple weeks, and the work should take place in May. We completed temporary repairs in February when we realized that the cost to repair just the damaged section was extremely high and it would be better to refurbish the entire roadway. We ask that you continue to use caution in the area in the meantime, and we’ll let you know when the repaving work will be done.

As we celebrate the start of spring, we’re also getting closer to campfire season. Please remember that you need a permit to have a campfire on your property, and you must use dry, seasoned, untreated wood for your fire. No household garbage, building or construction materials, or brush can be burned. We’re going to be cleaning watermains next week as this is essential for maintaining water quality. The flushing may cause pressure fluctuations, some water discolouration and sediment in the water that reaches your home. These conditions are normal and should not last long. If your water appears discoloured, turn on an outside water tap or bathtub faucet for about 15 to 20 minutes.
